If you’ve followed these steps to share DAW audio but your collaborators aren’t receiving it or it’s not working as expected, here are a few things to check and troubleshoot.
Ensure that neither the Muse DAW Bridge nor VB Cable is set as the input or output device in your DAW. Use your regular audio devices instead (e.g., headphones or audio interface).
Confirm that the Muse plugin (not the Muse Recording plugin) is placed on the master track and not on another track without audio.
Try switching between different quality settings to see if one works better. Click the gear icon next to your DAW Bridge input to adjust the quality.
If you're using third-party audio routing tools like Loopback Audio or Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack, be aware that these can sometimes block Muse from accessing your DAW audio. Either grant Muse access through those apps or consider uninstalling them.
If your collaborator is using a browser, make sure they’re joining from Chrome on a computer or Safari on an iPhone. Using an unsupported browser may prevent them from hearing high-quality audio.
Sometimes, removing the Muse Plugin from your DAW and adding it back can resolve the issue. Be sure to keep only one instance of the Muse Plugin in your project at a time!
Specific to Windows users:
Make sure you’ve downloaded and installed at least one third-party audio cable, such as VB-Audio Cable. This is required to share DAW or computer audio. If you want to share both at the same time, you’ll need an additional cable, such as VoiceMeeter.
If you encounter the error message: “Failed to access device: permission denied by system”, check your Windows privacy settings and ensure that audio permissions are enabled for Muse.
