Sharing MIDI (Windows)

Setting up MIDI on Windows is a bit tricky, but it is possible. Muse provides MIDI ports to make sure you can route MIDI between apps. 

Enable MIDI

• To send or receive MIDI, you must open DAW before launching Muse. 

This is a crucial step - you will encounter errors if you do otherwise. 

Sending MIDI

• Now, open Muse, enable MIDI in Muse's MIDI Settings, and select the MIDI Device you want to share as an input in Muse's MIDI Settings. 

Note: Some MIDI devices may have multiple inputs. If the first input does not work, try the other inputs.

Tip: If you want to share MIDI with Muse and your DAW simultaneously, you can use the MIDI passthrough. Muse MIDI passthrough will receive MIDI from your selected MIDI input, and you can choose MIDI passthrough as the MIDI input in your DAW. 

Receiving MIDI

• To receive MIDI input from others in your DAW, select Muse MIDI Output as the MIDI input in your DAW. 

Now, your collaborators can play instruments in your DAW remotely. 

• Hit Record on your DAW as usual to capture the performance.
