If you use Ableton, FL Studio, or a DAW that allows you to select separate inputs and outputs, you can use the simple recording method on Muse.
- First make sure you have at least one third party audio cable. We recommend both Virtual Audio Cable and Voicemeeter so you can record and share audio at the same time. You can download them for free from this link:
https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/
- Ensure that Simple recording mode is enabled in settings under the Recording tab.
- Select the audio device you want to use for recording. If you are using Voicemeeter, select Voicemeeter Input.
- Once you have selected a device for recording, arm the user whose audio you want to record by pressing R under their name and next to their desired input channel.
- Open up the Voicemeeter app and make sure that "B" or "B1" is selected under "Virtual Input". You should also see signal coming in from Muse.
- Head over to your DAW and set the selected recording device as your DAW's audio input. If you are using Voicemeeter, select the "B1" option.
Note: You do not need to change the output or insert the Muse Recording Plugin.
When you arm a track, you should see a signal coming through from Muse. If you do not see your signal or if there are any issues, try restarting your DAW and trying again.
Once you have a signal coming through, hit Record on your DAW as you usually would to capture your artist's performance.
Note: Due to various network conditions, you may experience latency. But sit tight! We are working hard to reduce latency in future versions of Muse.
